Q. I have a job interview with the Belk department store on Wednesday. What would be a good outfit to wear that would get me the job? Thank you.

A. In the past, when applying to a sales associate position I've always gone with: 1) non-jeans (usually a pair of black pants) and 2) depending on the weather a nice button down or sweater and light jewelry. Take a look at what other associates are wearing and try to match the style. If they're dressing more trendy, feel free to get more creative. If they're much more conservative, then lean towards being more conservative. And when in doubt, overdress a little (but a suit would probably be overkill).
